Environmentally Sustainable Design – ESD

What is environmentally sustainable design?

The Ecologically Sustainable Development or Environmentally Sustainable Design is the practice of designing infrastructure to achieve minimal impact on the environment during construction and in the long term. The world is changing so fast and with it the way we build our houses. The approach towards building more environmentally friendly houses in the last decade made high demand for environmentally sustainable design for buildings around Australia.

What is BASIX? Basix or the Building Sustainability Index is the NSW government tool to assess energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission for new residential development. The Basix certificate is part of the requirement for new development approval application for residential buildings across NSW. Basix target is to deliver effective and efficient water and greenhouse reductions across the state.

Basix assessment undertake the building energy consumption and efficiency of the installed equipment and building material to ensure the minimum 40% reduction in water consumption and 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emission is achieved via building design and equipment selection. How much a Basix assessment cost? NSW government charge a fee for Basix certification and there is a separate modelling and assessment fee charged by accredited assessor to complete the assessment and stamp the plans prior development application. The green energy assessment will charge minimum costs for multi dwellings, and our fees are very competitive in the market.
